MiRiDER FAQs: Everything You’ve Been Wondering, Answered

Thinking about joining the MiRiDER community or already own one of our electric bikes? Here’s a quick roundup of the most frequently asked questions from riders just like you. Whether you’re new to e-bikes or just want to get the most from your MiRiDER, we’ve got you covered.

Which MiRiDER is right for me?

MiRiDER currently offers three models: the MiRiDER 16, MiRiDER 20, and the MiRiDER 24 — each designed for different riding needs, but all built with comfort, simplicity, and portability in mind.

All models are available with an optional 3-speed gearbox and Gates carbon belt drive for a smooth, low-maintenance, and virtually silent ride.

  • MiRiDER 16: Our most compact and lightweight folding e-bike – ideal for city commuting, caravans, and everyday convenience.

  • MiRiDER 20: A slightly larger folding bike with improved comfort and stability for longer journeys.

  • MiRiDER 24: A full-size, non-folding e-bike with 24-inch wheels—perfect for touring, commuting, or riders wanting a more traditional bike feel.

How far can I go on a full charge?

Depending on the model and how you ride, you can expect:

  • Up to 45 miles with the MiRiDER 16

  • Up to 45 miles with the MiRiDER 20

  • Up to 65 miles with the MiRiDER 24

Range depends on rider weight, terrain, wind conditions, and level of pedal assist used.

How long does the battery take to charge?

All MiRiDER bikes use fast-charging Samsung 36V batteries. Charging takes around 2 to 3 hours, and the battery can be charged on or off the bike.

Are MiRiDER bikes road legal in the UK?

Yes – all our bikes meet UK e-bike regulations:

  • 250W motor

  • Max assisted speed of 15.5 mph

  • Pedal-assist only (no throttle)

This means no tax, insurance, or license is needed to ride on UK roads and cycle paths.

What’s the weight limit and recommended rider height?

All MiRiDER models have a maximum rider weight of 120 kg (265 lbs).

  • MiRiDER 16: Best for riders between 5’0” and 6’2”

  • MiRiDER 20: Suitable for 5’2” to 6’3”

  • MiRiDER 24: Ideal for 5’6” to 6’4”

Do they fold, and how portable are they?

  • MiRiDER 16 and 20 both fold down easily for storage and travel.

  • MiRiDER 24 does not fold fully, but the handlebars fold down to help reduce its height for transport or storage.

Are the bikes tested before shipping?

Absolutely. Every MiRiDER is hand-assembled and tested on our in-house track in Wigan, UK before it’s packaged and delivered to your door.

️ What kind of warranty do I get?

Every MiRiDER comes with a 2-year warranty on the frame, motor, and battery, and 1 year on other components. We also have a UK-based support team ready to help if you need assistance.

Can I travel with a MiRiDER?

Yes – the MiRiDER 16 and 20 are perfect for travel. Many owners use them with caravans, motorhomes, boats, or for train commutes. They’re compact, lightweight, and airline-compliant if you’re flying with them (battery restrictions apply).

How do I maintain my MiRiDER?

  • Keep the battery charged (don’t leave it flat)

  • Clean your bike regularly and avoid pressure washers

  • Have it serviced annually for best performance

We also recommend checking tyre pressure and keeping the chain clean and lubricated.
