GB3 Gearbox Maintenance

The 3 speed gearbox is a unique drive system which we’ve pioneered as the best solution for our bike and philosophy. Its benefits are vast when comparing to traditional chain and derailleur setups which will make ownership easier, cheaper and more pleasurable. Lubricating your MiRiDER GB3 Gearbox is easy and can be carried out at home or by a MiRiDER approved dealer. This should be done every 500 miles to validate warranty using the oil specially formulated for the GB3

Maintenance

The gearbox will not suddenly deteriorate at 500 miles of use, however after extensive testing, this is the mileage we recommend for a top up to keep your gearbox in perfect health. However, the more miles that are done, the more often maintenance of any part should be considered. Although a major part of the bike, the gearbox only needs a fraction of the attention other parts would require, such as your brakes, tyres, wheel condition and cleaning etc.

Next steps

As we have a very broad spectrum of DIY levels amongst our ownership base, from the guy’s who have a phobia of tools to ex mountain bike champions, we appreciate some folk can and will want to maintain their own bike but others are happy to pay for the service locally.

For individuals who are confident, you can buy lubricant below and follow the step-by-step video guide to assist you. Anyone not confident, you should visit our dealer map (130+ nationwide) to find your local shop to assist you – we realise some owners will not have a local store, but we’re working tirelessly to improve coverage! If you haven’t got realistic access to a local dealer please contact our customer service team to assist on hello@mirider.co.uk
